President of the Academic Accreditation Council Visits the Arab Academy in Aden
Prof. Dr. Sawsan Mohammed Bakhabirah, President of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for Higher Education, visited the Yemen Branch of the Arab Academy for Management, Banking and Financial Sciences (AAMBFS) in Aden on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. She was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Nadia Salam, Member of the Council, and Prof. Dr. Salem Basees, Director of Accreditation and Licensing at the Council. The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi, Director of the Academy’s Yemen Branch, and Prof. Dr. Abdulqader Mohammed Al-Abbadi, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Bakhabirah reviewed the Academy’s academic and professional training programs, as well as its ongoing efforts to develop curricula and strengthen quality assurance and academic accreditation standards. She reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to supporting leading higher education institutions in their pursuit of excellence in higher education and scientific research.
The meeting also included discussions on future collaboration in delivering specialized training programs for the Council’s academic evaluators and reviewers. The Arab Academy expressed its readiness to contribute to the design and implementation of these programs, with the aim of enhancing the evaluators’ professional competencies and equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to support the Council’s mission of promoting quality and institutional excellence.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Murad Mohammed Al-Nashmi welcomed the delegation, emphasizing that the visit reflects the Council’s commitment to supporting higher education institutions and encouraging the effective implementation of quality assurance and academic accreditation standards. He reaffirmed the Academy’s dedication to preparing highly qualified academic and professional graduates capable of meeting the needs of both the Yemeni and wider Arab labor markets. He also confirmed the Academy’s readiness to deliver specialized training programs in quality assurance and academic accreditation to further strengthen the capabilities of professionals working in evaluation and accreditation.
